Results of September Feedback Forms:

What are these? Answer: A form for players to anonymously fill out so that we can gauge player feelings and feedback, and help fix things that need fixing

Server Performance:

It’s not the server, it’s our modpack because we have not optimized it yet! Nothing modded has been done before by Curtain, so we are in the process of having someone (Riley - the person who did Peachy’s modpack) optimize our modpack which will make the server run much better!

Our current modpack is eating our server alive, once we optimize we might be able to downsize our server because of how much we upgraded before optimizing.

Modpack upgrades help with RAM usage and will help both client and server side issues

Create will be leaving the server as it does not play well with other mods we have installed, and is a heavy resource drag on the server and we cannot update the modpack with Create installed. This includes any mods that are dependent on Create.

Originally, Create was going to be used to bring the city to life through the use of trains and other moving builds. Unfortunately this will not be able to happen, but the sacrifice is worth it for the server’s playability.

Framed Blocks will be replacing Create Copy Cat. Players will have at least a month to swap out their builds. Framed Blocks will be added before we remove Create to accomplish this. You will be given several warnings before it is removed and the date when it is chosen!

The builders have known for a while, and they are changing out the blocks in the current areas that need to be removed. This will push back some projects, but will be better for the server overall.

We do not have a deadline for this yet!

Server can be Daunting for New Players:

TheMintMagician asked to Speak (paraphrasing): Our tutorial is simple compared to other SWEM servers. The only thing that is “yikes on a bike”s is that the coordinates can be difficult to pinpoint. Players have to dance around the coordinates right now, and a blocks would be easier for players to find. A block that leads straight to the coordinates would be useful.

Money is difficult to get when players start:

We have already put out some new quest lines that help with money! There is progression that gets less money the farther players go. They eventually become an overtime thing, so that players can gain more money at first and then gradually over time.

This also helps players diversify their income sources. This is just the first step in our Economy Overhaul things!

The redo of the server tutorial will also help with this as well.

The tutorial is long and grindy:

We are working on redoing the tutorial!

The run around and explore quests will be separate. They will still give items, but they will not be required and will instead be done at the players leisure.

Players have been asking for fairy lore, which is coming! Quests are also being worked on in general.

Our server is going to have quite a bit of lore through quests!

Laying Down Roots will be getting changed up to be less long, that way players get their first horse much faster!

Not everything is finalized or even planned at this point, this is just a general idea of where we are headed!

Players will be able to play through the new tutorial. Players will not be getting a second horse though.

Staff Presence and Behavior:

We have done work behind the scenes to work on how we operate on the server. We hope that has been presenting itself, as we continue to work on ourselves and our behavior and presence on the server

Curtain is working on being on the server more often. She was in vanish a lot when working, and is trying not to use it less so that she is seen on the server more!

Other staff, especially the Admins, are working on being less cold and icy to players. We did not intend to come off that way, and we are working on making sure we are more welcoming and inviting.

Players Worried About Retaliation:

We will not reprimand you or treat you differently for coming to us with issues! We are always willing to have conversations with players, we do not ban or mute or punish players for coming to us in any way.

The only reason we ever ban or mute or anything is if players are being extremely rude or completely out of line (i.e.: killing SWEM horses intentionally - instant ban). No one has ever been banned for speaking their mind.

We want to hear from you! Players are always welcome to open Staff Reports or Owner Tickets, or anything else. We want to hear your feedback and issues, as we cannot improve if we do not know what is wrong.

You can always ask to have players added to a ticket! We will add players or other staff if you want them added, just tell us the name(s) of who you want added and we will add them.

We can only improve if we know what is wrong. We do not know what is wrong is you do not tell us. Come to us or go to the next staff up if something comes off wrong! We have to be told when things go wrong.

We know that Nivi and Curtain and come off as cold and harsh because we are compliance staff. We do not mean to be a brick wall, please always feel like you can come to us and talk about things with us!

Staff Reports and Owner Tickets are only seen by Curtain. Even Admins are unable to view them, so please use them for any grievances you have! Curtain will not share them with anyone unless you specifically ask her to.

We have a 0 tolerance policy for retaliation. If you experience it, please make an Owner Ticket or a Staff Report immediately.

Ongoing Feedback:

Starting now we will be implementing a 24/7 feedback form

This will not have specific questions. It will instead be open ended so you can provide feedback as you see fit! The more details you provide, the better <3

Staff only have a staff perspective, with all the details about the back end. Players do not have the info, and we would want to hear from a players perspective

Tickets will always be open, please utilize them if you want more information or feedback from us on rules or anything else. We want to make sure players have as much information as you’d like, as we are trying to be as transparent as we can be

Please be constructive! We cannot fix things if we do not know about them, but please also don’t be outright mean. Blunt is fine! But being mean and rude is not helpful

We will still do more targeted feedback forms with specific questions if we have specific things we need player feedback on as well! This is an overall one for players to fill out as they see things

Inconsistencies in the Registry:

This includes everything about welfare and such.

We’ve heard your frustration with passing one month, changing nothing, and then failing the next month. Registry team is getting retrained and reminded to make sure they are being thorough and consistent!

Update: When we see an issue that we might have missed, we warn the player but pass the property the first time because we missed it. The player then has until the next month to fix that so they pass the next month’s inspection as well. The only exception is rules (being too close to another player, blacklisted mobs, etc.) that are immediate fails.

If you have more feedback, please use the new form to let us know!

Quark Mobs are being added to welfare pages as we have time! Keep in mind that once they have welfare any pens they have will need to be adapted to these standards.

Rule Clarifications:

Some of our rules are outdated and no longer make sense, as we have changed our server quite a bit over the last year.

We will be working on this and updating them! It’s not fair to players that these are not explained well, we cannot expect you to interpret rules.

Horse Market Changes:

Players are frustrated at older players getting the first slots at the market, and new players are put on the waitlist and might not be able to get a horse because they were not here when the list started.

There is no more waitlist. There will be a form to fill out on the day of the market, and it’ll be first come first server for that sign up.

The event in Discord is just to get the ping for when the event starts, after that there will be an entry form that that starts at the event to fill out. We will gather around the horse market, and at the starting time the form will open. Players will be able to fill it out, as a first come first serve thing which will choose who gets into the market. This will choose the horse picking order as well. We are hoping this makes markets more fair! This will be explained in detail before the next market as well

Event Team and Shows:

Players have concerns about time zones and variety in shows.

The Event team has been broken up into different parts, so players don’t have to do everything for shows. Event team members can specialize and only have to do certain parts of shows.

We are hoping this helps encourage more event hosting as it will hopefully be less stressful for players.

There will be different divisions and we have the finals coming up! Finals are not open to everyone. Players and horses have to have qualified from the previous official shows!

Server Jobs:

Activity is important! For most server jobs, players have to have been on the server for at least 30 days and have shown activity.

Some jobs require more activity than others, but all server jobs do require at least an hour or more of activity a week.

Time zones are also important sometimes! If a server job is looking for a specific requirement, it will normally be listed. These are based on the current employees of server jobs and their time zones.

Please do not reach out to staff about jobs. We completely understand your excitement, but asking about when apps will be looked at over and over is not a good way to get hired.

Staff are also not allowed to answer questions about applications. That is seen as an unfair advantage. Some questions are roleplay related, and any others can be found on the Wiki or Discord! Just do your best to answer the questions on your own <3.

Server jobs are not quick and easy money. They require work and time to maintain and do right. Our server relies on server job employees to run, and we need active players for these jobs. If you are unable to meet time and hours for a job, you will be asked to step down.

IRL always comes first! Please do not sacrifice things IRL for pixel ponies. If your situation changes and you need a break or feel the need to step down or anything else like that, please talk with your department head! They will never be mad at you for IRL situations and life changes. We understand that things happen, we simply ask for communication!

Application wise, the more details the better! Do not just copy and paste Google or AI (please do not use AI for your applications - we do not want to hear from a bot. We want to hear from YOU!). You will be much less likely to get you hired if you do not answer with your own voice.

How many times you apply does not affect your current application. We do not look at old apps, we are only looking at your current one!

“High Activity” is defined as being on at least a couple times a week. This tag is designated for Vets and Breeders, as they require high activity to preform their jobs.

We do not take paid ranks into account for any of this. Spending money does not make you any more or less likely to get a server job. When an application asks for ranks, it’s just asking about the Beginner rank right now. Eventually we will have more time ranks to show how long a player has been here and the quests they have gone through.

You will receive a personalized denial message if you are denied from a server job. This will inform you on the Whys of your application denial, so you can change things up if you decide to apply in the future!

It can take us a while to go through applications, so that we can be thorough in our picks and in our messages! Everyone will get a denial or acceptance message, no one will be ghosted.

You can open a support ticket to ask for more information as to why an application was denied as well!
